The Tom Donaldson Memorial Page

In Memoriam

ON A FRIEND by Robert Burns

An honest man here  lies at rest.
As e'er God with his image blest;
The friend of man, the friend of  truth;
The friend of age, and guide of youth;
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm'd,
Few heads with knowledge so inform'd:
If there's another world,  he lives in bliss:
If there is none, he made the best of this.

(A friend sent Stephanie this beautiful poem.  Anyone who knew Tom will understand why.  It is as if the author knew Tom)

Our friend and fellow bird bander, Tom Donaldson, passed away on February 28th, 2006.  Tom was stricken while at work.

Tom was the beloved husband of Stephanie (Hagopian) Donaldson.

 Tom will always be remembered for being a true gentleman and for his generosity with his time and his knowledge.  He has shared so much with the children of Auburn, and they, along with our bird banding extended family, will profoundly miss Tom.

Donations in his memory may be sent to the American Bird Conservancy, P.O. Box 249, The Plains, VA 20198.  This is an organization that Tom valued and supported.  Their website is or donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street, N.W., P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180.
