The Amazing New Adventures of Larry and Mark - Peru, Land of the Incas

Chapter 29

The Main Square of Machu Picchu

The central grassy area is called the Main Square, which separates

the urban sector (on the right) from the sacred  sector on the left.

Looking straight across the Main Square to the urban sector and the

great skyline behind it.

The architecture for the laborers and town people was built to

last just like in the sacred sector.

Stone construction was always built to the "living rock."  Now, we just

blast the stone away.  Huayna Picchu is in the background.  More

about THAT later!

The lone tree in the grass, shared only with the llama lawn mowers.

More soon!
